More evidence of crack smoking on Gunbroker

Not a handgun, but there's an ad on gunsamerica for a Remington 541-T Heavy Barrel .22 rifle. Probably unfired, but with scope bases mounted...only $879. I'd go look it up and see if it's the same seller, but I'm not that interested. :)

"At least he offered to pay the shipping."

Nope. Read the ad again.

"BUYER PAYS $25.00 SHIPPING TO YOUR FFL."

hmm, I got my wife her Vaquaro and her blackhawk for less that that only 3 years ago....

maybe I'm in the wrong biz.. what does it cost for a C&R again?

Auctions are not always cheaper then your local gun shop. Sometime I think that these guys price there guns super high on the off chance that some idiot will bid on it.

Ring The Bell

Over on Gunsamerica there used to be a dealer named Anthony Ring who priced guns into the stratosphere. I always said, I wouldn't pay $1000 for a SW PC revolver, but I'd definitely pay it for an ounce of whatever Tony has been smoking.

I think some people just don't know what their stuff is really worth on the open market. They think they can charge more than new price because it is "rare" or "limited" but in reality, it is common and plentiful. I hope no one bids on his stuff but if someone does then they probably deserve to pay too much. How stupid would a guy have to be to pay that kind of cash for a gun that you could find for half that price with about two seconds of searching?

And what is up with those stupid Bolo ties? Geesh!

What kind of ammo...

Do those bolo ties use, anyway?

Or do they mount on a gun?

(Trying to figure out the connection between an overpriced bolo tie and online firearms auction...)

The three theories on the crack-smoking prices I have heard were:
1. Wife said to sell the guns, so the guy lists them on Gunbroker for outrageous price knowing that no one will bid. He can then say "Look honey, nobody wants to buy these guns, I'll have to keep them."
Or
2. Trawling for some idiot to come along and buy it for the outrageous price.
Or
3. its listed high on purpose, they're hoping a buyer will email them and make a reasonable offer, thus they dont have to pay Gunbroker's listing fee.
