Mosin price

THR! Finally I picked up a 1942 Izhevsk Mosin 91/30. It is in excellent shape and the wood is in very good condition. Mosin addiction, engaged.

Very very nice!!! Hopefully as great inside as she looks on the outside. Great find have fun and don't forget the range report.
 
Certainly looks like a higher premium finish than most usually are (not to be confused with Finnish, sorry couldn't help myself from a little mosin noobie humor). lol
 
That will be a better price than -any- mail order Mosin you find, once you factor in shipping and the FFL transfer.

So yes, that is a good price.
 
Thanks for all the comments! The gun was $146 after tax and judging by the quality of the rifle after I cleaned the cosmoline, I made out real good. The wood is in excellent shape and the bore is a little black but I am ordering some bore paste so it'll shine right up. It will shoot great I am sure of that.

Regional chain store "Fleet Farm" has them for $100 every day and they go on sale for $90 every month or so. From what I have seen they are the usual mix of nice and not so nice examples.

I just bought my first Mosin, the M44 carbine and its a pleasure to shoot. With these low prices that everyone is posting, I might just pick up the 91/30 model too!

Yes. The ones at my LGS are abused, not that it isn't the norm to see a beat up old war horse. But, there's yours...

Jealousy begets envy. I'm now on a mission: my first Mosin. If it looks as good as yours, mission accomplished.

Call North Shore Firearms in Middleton MA tomorrow. Just google the shop and give them a call and where you're from. You may be getting a rifle from my crappy state!
