Hi, just wanna know which ammo in .40 s&w cal is the most reliable for the m&p40 based on your experience guys! Already had a misfeed using Fiocchi FMJ 170Gr Truncated.
Hardball has the edge over hollow points as far as reliability in feeding. I've shot 165 and 180g TCFP though my m&p compact. It digests any thing that isn't damaged.
Cleanfire type ammo has a "hard" primer which may give you have occational FTF. M&Ps will have FTE if you do not scrape all the carbon off the extractor periodically. You didn't say how old your M&P is but some of the early ones had proplems with the striker. One of mine had some FTF a couple of times which I mentioned to S&W and they replaced the striker for me.
I have a 40 with about 8,000 rounds through it and it always eats whatever brands or bullet weight it was. I generally use lead free range ammo and I have had a FTE after 500 rounds without cleaning it when the gun was new to see where it would start to have problems.
I bought it last week, so I suppose it is last gen m&p. Just 200 rds thru it. Dunno how long is the break-in period. I feel bad to hear that yours never had a problem before since mine is new and 2 misfeeds had occured.
