Being in the same "powder hunting" boat, I recently tried Blue Dot in my .40's too. It may not be ideal, but I'm really just loading what I'd consider plinking loads, for use at a short indoor range anyway. Other than a little unburned powder, its worked fine for me. I settled on 7.8 grains pushing 165 Powerbond bullets. I use them in both my full size Glock 22 and subcompact 27. Both guns get good accuracy and recoil that is lighter than factory loads.
