I went to the gun store with a Saiga question and walked out with this- a 1968 Winchester Buffalo Bill Commemorative in .30-30. This is my first lever action and boy it is fun! The blueing is in really good shape; however, I am going to be looking for someone to touch up the gold inlay. I really liked this one because of the heavy octagonal barrel. Let me know what you think!

sweet. nice looking rifle. I hate break this to you, but you just started down a path of lever addiction.

Sweet rifle. I just got me a 1969 94 in 30-30. I love it. I think it will make deer hunting fun again. Now put up some plates and see what she will do! I was pleasantly surprised with mine with open sights. I havent shot open sights in 15 years untill I got this rifle. So much fun, even if it is harder.

I'd throw that silly ammo girdle away, it screws up the lines a fine looking rifle.

You know about putting bullets in that thing under the barrel?

Very nice looking .30-30 there!

I personally don't mind the ammo cuff and use on one my 336. It doesn't look as traditional and whatnot, but 9 more rounds on tap is 9 more rounds on tap. Some may disagree.

That particular rifle may command some sort of premium. The Winchesters already do since being discontinued and that's a commemorative edition.

My Great Grandfather owned a General Store that sold guns in the 1960's and 1970's, and Winchester gave him a rifle identical to yours for meeting a sales quota. I am not sure what yeah that was though. That was the only rifle that did not come our way from my Grandfather's Estate, because it was "Lost". Which is utter B.S. You stumbled onto a beautiful rifle though. If you ever want to sell it, please let me know...Randall

Matching rifle and carbine

When I was about 10 years old, my aunt gave me and my dad a matching pair of buffalo bill comemorative rifles. Mine is the carbine and my dad's is the full length rife. They were purchased new and never shot, though we didn't get the boxes. In my younger days, before I knew better, I got my hands on a box of ammo and shot about 10 rounds through it. Other than that, it has never been shot. I am wishing I hadn't shot it, not that I would ever sell it. They are beautiful rifles with good engraving and a silver coin that is embedded into the stock.
