My new "Plus One" tactic to support 2A rights.

Ok guys...just an idea to spread our 2nd Amend. cause...

Make a commitment to get one more gun "newbie" into our ranks. Introduce one person to the "gun world" by the end of this month. Strike a conversation about self-defense...then offer a quick intro about gun safety /procedures...and take them out to the range. Who knows...the gun bug just might bite...and they would be hooked for life with a great hobby!! Increasing the number of gun enthusiasts / gun owners/ CCWs is the quickest way to support the cause. (They will eventually vote for pro-gun candidates!!)

This is not a new tactic. But being INTENTIONAL with this idea is. Let's make a concerted effort to win one more person this month! Are you guys with me?

(Ok..don't just say yes. Really do it. Have a person or two in mind that you will actually try to win over.)

Agreed! If ya have a gun (or more!) and like to shoot, talk with your co-workers. If someone is kinda into guns, invite 'em along! I've never invited anyone to the range who didn't end up getting a LTCF and a their own sidearm within six months, most also got poodle-shooters.

It's a great idea and like many great ideas isn't new, but the value of it shouldn't be diminished by that.

My standard has been to teach one new person a month how to shoot. I've exhausted my ready supply, but that just means I have to expand through the network of people that I've taught.

So, if you've run out of folks in your immediate circle, ask them for new folks to introduce. Think of it as an RKBA pyramid scheme.

I try to do that myself whenever possible. I just start by introducing them to target shooting at a local range (no defenseive targets, just a good ole 50-yd bullseye target, but at 10yds for them to get started). That usually gets them interested. It will also remove any fear of the gun, which would interfere with using logic to see the gun as merely a tool with a valuable societal purpose, like a car, bicycle, or heck even a hammer. They all perform a task, which was initiated purely by the person operating it.
