Hey all, I had a few minutes left on my lunch break today so I stopped into my favorite lunch-time haunt to see if he had any new trades come in.

He pulled 2 smith's out of the back room, one of which I had him put on hold for me after jotting down a few quick notes because I had to get to a meeting.

I wrote down that it is a 19-7 and it has a 2.5" barrel. Not pinned, not recessed and of course a round butt. Tonight I am looking at trying to date the gun and the serial number I wrote down is BAA32xx.

I'm looking through my SCSW and am just not finding a rough DOB on this gun, so now I am questioning my note taking skills.

Any thoughts?

The other gun is a 6" 586 - roughly 90% condition in the box for $379.. thinking of snagging them both..

Yep, believe it or not the "19" is $279 and it's 95% in the box..

Sometimes this place is just way off on their pricing. Which is why I stop about 4 times a week ;)

First thought - Don't take a job as a court stenographer. ;)

The DOB on a BAA gun is 1988. But 19-7s were a generation later, like '94 - they were the first with the rounded sight tang for the drill/tap feature.

So I am guessing it's not "BAA" or it's not 19-7, one of the two must be mistaken.

Either way, get it or let me call them!

$279!!!! If I didnt have the money I would still buy it and eat Ramen for a few weeks at that price.

get them both. been a long time since I came across a deal like that.

Buy them both and sell the one you don't like. You'll have a free gun left over.

Thanks all, I definitely wrote something down wrong. I work in IT so sometimes I forget how to veen use a pen ;)

Knowing how to spell went to the wayside at the same time as the eraser... where's the spell checker on this forum..??
