The powders I have on hand are Tightgroup, AA# 2, AA# 7 and WIN 231, I'm looking for the most accurate load just for shooting groups at 15-25yds. The pistol is a S&W M&P 40 full size with a KKM Precision 40-9mm conversion barrel. I tried 4.0grs. of Tightgroup with an OAL of 1.120" with fair results any other suggestions of loads using the powders I have on hand would be great! Or, suggestions of powders I don't have that have been known to produce good accuracy using the bullets I have. Seems I read somewhere that the load data for Speer Bullets worked well with the Precision Delta bullets? Thanks! :)

I am about to finish my first box of 1K PD 124gn. I have used 4.5gn of HP38 with an OAL of 1.14. Kind of so so accuracy in my Commander. It is pretty new to me however, and I am thinking it may be the gun or me. Had about the same accuracy with Rainier 115gn HP over 4.8gn of HP38 at 1.10 OAL.
If you use anything close to these loads let us know your results.

You may use any of the loads suggested in your loading manual, or on the powder manufacturer's web sites, that are for 124gr jacketed bullets. By "jacketed" I mean that FMJ, hollow point, FP, conical, round nose or any other bullet constructed with a copper sheath over a lead core is going to use the same starting load.

Your OAL is going to depend upon how that particular bullet interacts with your barrel, so we cannot talk to that.

Of the powders you mentioned, Win 231 (aka HP-38) would be my preferred starting point, and will be easy to find load information for. If all else fails, try the Hodgdon web site for loading data.
