Got my permit 3 weeks ago and bought a Regent 1911 .45 (top) off a buddy of mine the same day I got the permit. I love shooting the Regent, its insanely accurate but ammo cost was killing me. So yesterday, I went out an got the Rock Island 9mm. I haven't shot it yet, but i've read nothing but positive reviews. I can't wait to put some rounds through it.

Very Nice, sorry to tell you........butttttttt these won't be the only ones. Their like Lays Potato Chips, you can't have just one... IMG_2799.gif

The 9MM 1911's are not only cheaper to shoot, but lots of fun as well. You could start reloading to even further reduce ammo costs. Just a suggestion.
I still need one in .22, .38super and 10mm :)
I have a Super, and love it. I keep meaning to get a .22 conversion, but never have.

Congrats on your newest 1911.

I don't think I could tell you which is my favorite. The bottom left is a Delta Elite Custom by Chuck Warner, and the middle is a 1967 LW Commander 38 Super. The other 1911's are 45's

The only problem with the 9mm 1911

...is that it will make you feel guilty that you can't shoot your .45 as well. ;)

You're going to love that 9mm. It's a cream puff to shoot. I have a modified Kimber PCII 9mm and it's a great pistol, and a joy at the range.

I bought a Rock Island 9mm Tactical

for the same reason. I like it a lot but it does not like Hollow points at all. It feeds just about any ball ammo without fail. Follow up shots come a lot quicker with the 9mm than the 45. As has already been said, 191's are addictivehere are a few of mine. The first is a Kimber ultra 3".

What I don't have Pics of right now is my Kimber Ultra in Stainless, my S&W enhanced which I don't have yet, still making payments and, my GSG22 which I should be picking up next week.:D The GSG will be getting a Paint job right after I get it, probably OD green.

Let's see; a John Moses Browning designed 9MM; sounds like the Browning Hi Power to me. All of the goodness of the 1911, but built specifically for 9MM. Beautiful, fun to shoot and 13+1 rounds.

As long as we're showing off 1911 9MMs..........

Gorgeous gun Walkalong!

Got mine out yesterday and put about 80rds through it. Had no problems at all and it feels great.

Shoots very well now that it has a Bar-Sto barrel. The stock barrel was erratic. I sent it back to S&W and when I got it back it shot real well the first couple of groups and I thought it was cured, but more shooting proved other wise. I wrestled with sending it back again or just installing a quality aftermarket barrel. I caught a good deal on a new barrel and went that route. Shoots much better. I can only assume that is why it was on the used gun market. Overall the pistol is nicely made. I am glad I got a decent deal on it after having to buy the barrel. It runs like a Swiss watch. It has never failed to feed, fire, or eject with several bullet styles. I also added the STI trigger. I really like them.

Excellent shooting Hunterdad. It doesn't break the bank like .45 can, and 9MM can be loaded really soft. :)
