I got the call today, I finally got my hands on one... a Glock 21 Gen 4.

I'm not a big fan of the Gen 4 17's and 19's, I believe Glock dropped the ball with the Gen 4 changes to these pistols. The 9mm just doesn't work well with the new spring design, the guns are over sprung and Glock is trying to deal with it.

But the .45 ACP, now that has potential. I'll find out here soon, and of course I will document my adventures on video.

Meanwhile, here are some baby pics.

Nice! Looking forward to a range review and (dirtier) pics.

I must be the only person out there with a functioning gen4 19. 3000 rounds and not a single issue...except one tula round that wouldn't go off (good primer strike...tried in another 9mm...just a dud). :)

Could you take a picture of the recoil spring assembly? Yesterday, Glock announced an exchange program for all guns sold before July 22, 2011 due to a redesigned recoil spring assembly. If you purchased yours after this date, you will likely have one of the new RSA's. I was just curious about what makes it different.

Considering the Glock 21 Gen 4 wasn't available for sale in July (that I'm aware of), I don't understand what Glock is saying on their website when they list the G21 Gen 4 in the exchange program. <shrug>

Anyway, here's a shot of the spring showing the markings. There is a 0 a 7 and some symbol that I can't make out that has the shape of a partial 2.

Not trying to derail this thread but this makes me very hesitant on buying a gen 4.I love my gen 3 glock 17 but when i go buy my next 45acp im wondering if the glock 21 gen4 will be as relaible.

I think they were having problems with the recoils system and ejection. It might be cleared up now which is what that whole exchange thing was about. Looks like my Gen 3 G21 is going to have some company :D

I just saw today (Glock posted it on Facebook) that they are sending out new recoil spring assemblies for the Gen 4's. Just gotta contact customer service.

Seeing Glock has ruined there slide finish and it appears they haven't a clue concerning the 4th Gens. I ordered my 3rd Gen 20 today.

^ No doubt I'm a Gen3 fan. I own a G20SF, but the Gen4 do look better/more modern, and I do think they have a little better ergonomics.
