I recently have aquired a Mossberg 500 and plan on making this my primary HD weapon. With that said, by keeping the magazine tube loaded to the max, will that harm the spring over time? I wouldn't be too concerned but you can't easily install a new spring.

Thanks

Modern firearms shouldn't have any trouble with a compressed spring. Congrats on the 500... it's our all-around home defense shotgun as well.

I like mine well enough and staying compressed will not hurt a modern spring. It will only break from fatigue of being compressed and released several thousand times.
They are not that hard to replace, but I feel your trepidation. Look on youtube, they have a guy that does a step by step breakdown for you on video. I used it the first couple of times and it saved me alot of headache.
