RIFLE-VZ58-HC-B.jpg

Just noticed that the centerfire site now has a 10 round only "Vz 2000" AND one that takes 30 round mags for $150 more.

Just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about the Vz's that centerfire is selling with the thumbhole stock and all. Mainly if the gun is set up to easily add the orriginal pistol grip and stock configuration once sufficent 922(r) parts could be fabricated.

Does anyone have one of these thumbhole stocked "sporter" Vz 58's that they can look at and see?

I would be able to swing $800 but possibly not $1300 for the OOW, and was wondering how easily the ones centerfire is selling could be returned to orriginal furnature configuration given that 922 (r) was taken care of.

I just ordered one from Centerfire today. They've not updated their product pictures. They DO have the new Vz58s from Cz-Usa, and that is what you'll get if you order one of their high-caps. No thumbhole, no milled out by who-knows-who lowcap receivers. The real deal from the Czechs. Nobody has reported conclusively, but conjecture from some folks who've already gotten their Cz-USA Vz58s is that the 922r parts are mag follower and floorplate, gas piston and trigger.

armoredman, how is $970 cheaper than $799 ?

Oh, LeibstandarteAdH, "Vz2000" is a marketing name from OOW. What centerfire has been selling is the lowcap neutered Czech rifle and the 'high cap' they sell is the same rifle that they've sent out to have the mag well milled out. The aforementioned rifles are imported by Century.

He didn't post a link, and he listed a price tag of $1300. If they were less than that originally, great, buy there. The mags are the problem, not AK mags, and $40 each from CZ USA.

You posted the link to Cz-Usa where they have them listed at $970 MSRP. I assumed you'd read it.

Mags can be obtained from Centerfire Systems for $10 each.

No, I meant his non-link to Centerfire, where he spoke of them for $1300, before I posted mine to CZ-USA where they are for $970.
Ah, never mind. Say I made a mistake, laugh a little, and I'll be on my way.

Yeah, i never posted the starting price of $649 for the low-cap model from centerfire that i was talking about. And Hoppy, im aware that 922(r) is still very much in effect.

So let me get this strait, what your saying is that what centerfire HAS been selling are the low-cap century thumbhole "sporter" versions as their base price "Vz" (and are still doing so for $649), Was once selling those same rifles with milled out mag wells as "high-cap 30 round" models, but no longer is, but has now picked up the all out (semi-auto) Vz 58 style real deal from CZ-USA and are selling those for the listed $799, but have not updated their site description or picture.

All i really care about is the fact that if i buy the one on centerfires site for $799 its not going to be some screwey proprietairy stock setup that im stuck with so they could maintain it as a sporter easier. But if what you said is true, that is no worry now.

Do you know if they have them IN STOCK aka in their possession? Centerfire has beed like super horrable with me about taking orders for things they either dont have then, never had in the first place, ran out of, and/or will never get again.
