"New" Olympic Whitney Wolverine 22lr

I can't seem to find much info on the "New" Olympic Whitney Wolverine 22lr. I am interested to know who here has experiences with one and what they think of it. For under $300 it seems like it might be worth a gamble. Love the looks and the all body poly frame is interesting

I have seen and handled them, but never fired one. I agree they do seem very tempting, much less so since I bought another .22 pistol recently though. It would be interesting to see the new version go head-to-head with the original.

There were actually three of them which are all probably still there. They seem ok, but the sights are molded from the rest of the polymer and the trigger wasn't wonderful if I remember. All three were in different colors including one in pink.

I wouldn't buy one.I've never seen a report on the Oly Wolverine that was any good.They all reported functioning problems.Oly Arms is a shady company.Don't buy Oly.

my experience

Dont get one period. I owned one several years ago bought it outta the box all it did was jam .sent it back to Olympic arms it was returned "repaired". Told to shoot "quality" ammo through it.I took it out jammed literally every shot sent it back. Again it was returned again it jammed .the shop i bought it at finally exchanged it for a totally different gun. took it out it jammed. Ended up getting my money back. the gun shop quit carrying them he said out of the four he sold all of the were returned and all had the same issue,jamming after first round.
It did not matter what I ran through mine ,it would not feed after the first round.
I loved the ergonomics and size but have ran into two others who have owned one over he last few years all of them had the same experience. Sad because I really wanted it to work

I wasn't too impressed when I saw it in person. It wouldn't be first on my "to buy" list. Plus, I've read quite a few not so impressive reviews.

I know this is pretty generic forum advice but get a Ruger MK3 and call it good. They're excellent pistols that will outlast you.

Original Whitney's are around.Ruger MK3 are cheaper tho.They can be had for less then $300.

I checked it out when it first appeared. One of the indoor ranges I use had one for rent.

First, it is a gawd awful looking thing. It has none of the smooth graceful lines of the original. And, I had such hopes when it was announced.

The trigger was terrible, and reliability was poor. Now I admit it was fairly new, and guns need to be broken in. Plus .22's are notorious for having a preference for what they like.

All in all, I was thoroughly disappointed in the current rendition.

Love the MK3. I have a stainless one and a blued 22/45. Wife has a Buckmark and I also have a S&W 617 and a Beretta bobcat, so I got quality 22s. I just find the looks and polymer design of this interesting

Buy a Beretta Neos if you're wanting a polymer gun. I know you don't see too many reviews on them but I've got one and so far after several thousand rounds, no failures of any kind. They're excellent guns, are a breeze to take down, and still have the sci-fi look like the Wolverine.
