Yeah, they do.

No they don't. At least they didn't when I returned my Vaquero for shooting 6" left at 15 yards. They turned the barrel and it was perfect when I got it back. I can't believe they would risk bending the front sights on them now.

I remember the first time I looked down the barrel of my 44 Mag Vaquero. Straight out of the box the front sight was clearly canted to the left. It was evident that more than one "test round" had been fired as most of the cylinder bores had residue. It shoots point of aim and is probably my most accurate Ruger so I'm not worried about it but its pretty evident that it was adjusted on the fly at the factory.

Looked better than the Redhawk I purchased new that looked like it got dragged behind a truck. Dings all over it , file marks etc. Ive noticed Ruger does a great job on the finish on their blued guns. The SS guns not so much.

I have both and would more than recommend either of them. My preference is for the 4.5 barrel. Fixed sights don't bother me in a 45. All I ever shoot is 250gr reloads.

I'd go Blackhawk in 45 colt. Mine is the 5.5" blued. I see now that I need some stag grips! Man those look sweet!

Here's another look at my new 45 Blackhawk. Added some Hogue white micarta grips. Really dressed it up, and I like the thicker smooth grip compared to the narrower black checkered issue grips.

Looks great! Always liked the combination of white/ivory grips with a blued gun.

Unless I'm looking to save weight, I usually tote a .357 stainless New Vaquero with a 4 5/8" barrel while hiking around.

I recently sold my old 6.5" .357 Blackhawk. I just never shot it. Way too heavy to pack around. Great gun, though.

The Vaquero just points better for me and the high gloss polish cleans up nicely.

I keep promising myself a .45 colt/.45 acp blackhawk with the 4 5/8" barrel. I'd love to dabble in .45 colt, but I don't reload. The .45 apc would give me something to play around with.

For now, the Vaquero does most everything I need done.

To bring this full circle I have purchased a Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 Colt, 5.5 inch barrel, stainless. I do plan to reload for it so ammo cost was not a huge concern. It should be here this week. Can't wait. I'm sure this is only the first of my SA collection :)

I think you are going to LOVE that gun... Great Choice!

The Bisley Grip makes hard kicking loads very tolerable. I have the 3 3/4" Bisley in 44 Magnum, Lipsey's Special, and hard kicking 44 Magnums are very controllable in mine. That really surprised me.

Let us know how it works out...

CraigC, I assume that is custom work on the Vaquero ? Those two sure are pretty !! I really would like a Vaquero, but opted for adjustable sights on a Blackhawk first.
