I just got me a 10/22 for my christmas present to my self, its a 10/22 LVT stainless, i wanted to get some input on scope options, its gonna be a split 50/50 plinking/target shooting and hunting gun(squirrel/rabbit/woods gun), i was thinking a Adjustable objective 3x9x40 scope, please give brand suggestions, money is not really and option(under $500) also note that its gun spend alot of time riding in trucks so durability and zero hold is very important. And advise would be great. Thanks Brent

You really don't need AO on a 9x or lower power scope for most use.

AO is necessary with higher power like 10x and over, or very close range like in air rifle shooting at 10 meters.

I would suggest a .22 RF scope though, as the parallax is factory set at closer range then for a high-power rifle scope.

Maybe a Leupold like this?

Or this. As good as it gets affordably for an all around .22 RF scope.
It does have AO, whether you need it or not.

check out vortex viper line, bushnell elites, and nikon buckmaster series. all are within your price range and are great scopes.

I used the Leupold 2-7 x 28 Rimfire that rcmodel linked on my CZ. It is very clear. I like it because it is compact and light.
