Very nice!

Thanks @Nature Boy ! It was 75F this morning and still is at 2:15pm local time so not too hot. I know I've already said this but I'm just so impressed with everything about this rifle. I haven't measured trigger pull but it feels good and I'd guess is 2-1/2 to 3lb at most. Pull weight is adjustable but I like it as it is so probably won't mess with it. Next up will be shooting at steel at 200, 400, 700 and 1050 yards to check dope. I'll wait for a calm day though since it's been quite windy up here recently. I need so shoot early in the morning when it's still.

Oh yeah, I really like the side mounted "military" sling swivel studs. It's so much better (more comfortable) to carry a rifle with the none bolt side up against my back with left side of the stock laying flat against my back. I wish all rifles offered that option.

The aluminum factory bottom metal from Mountain Tactical arrived yesterday along with a stainless steel recoil lug to replace the aluminum one. Both were an easy swap and I'm impressed with the bottom metal. It has an aluminum magazine catch and fits the stock very well indeed. It's definitely an upgrade over the plastic part that shipped with the rifle.

The aluminum bolt shroud is back ordered but expected within a week or two. That's the last upgrade to this rifle other than possibly painting the barreled action and maybe having the stock dipped.

I moved the scope forward a bit yesterday since the occular bell just clipped my nose on the last outing. In addition, I wanted to check zero after swapping out the recoil lug and bottom metal. First 5-shot group with Federal Trophy Copper 180gr ammunition was about 0.4 milrad left but elevation was good. I dialed right 0.4 milrad and then sent two more shots downrange that basically went in the same hole landing very close to the point of aim ... done! This rifle loves the Federal Trophy Copper load and once I've checked dope out to 700 yards, and maybe 1,050 yards I'd be very comfortable to take this rifle on any hunt. In fact, I'll use it this fall on deer and elk. What an awesome rifle!
