I have been looking around for a new or newer model 63 pre or post lock model. It seems that this Gun is a rare and expensive model. The older 6 shot versions on Gun Broker have asking prices in the $900 to $2000 range. This is higher than a nice model 18 or k22/ 17. The new 8 shot ones are never in stock at Buds or Davidsons. It seems if they are so popular S&W would be making more of them.

What gives, seen any for sale at a reasonable price?

I have only seen one myself at a gun shop and that was at a gun shop that claimed it was new (but it was used). Price was above retail as it was not long after the Sandy Hook panic set in and prices on many things skyrocketed.

For whatever reason, it seems that just about any 22 S&W has ever made is selling for exorbitantly high prices. And that’s only when you can find one.

Bought One A Week Ago!

A local gun shop had several brand new Model 63 3" when I stopped in last week. I looked at the 63 and the 317 (all aluminum). I went home and called around to see if anybody else had them in stock and was told they were out of production! I went back the next day and got one for $689.00 + tax. Shot it and was very happy I got it. They may have some left! Perry's Gun Shop in Wendell, NC! Good luck!

I bought my daughter a new Model 63 and she loves it.

I also have taken to the little .22 revolver, it's really fun to shoot.
