haven't had a chance to shoot with the TruGlo yet. its seems ok. nice tight dot with 11 brightness settings. seems to be a lot of paralax error though. when i get a chance to shoot it i'll report more on it. it was only $80. if i don't like it, i'm going to switch to an EOTech 512.

Nice build! How does the Ergo grip feel to you? I went with the Ergo Tactical Sure grip, and I guess I kinda regret that. It's shape is hard to get used to, both for my hands as well as my eyes

My first choice in appearance is the TangoDown battlegrip, but theres some issues there. Might just go with a plain Ergo Sure grip, but the First Samco G27 is the other contender. :uhoh:

Also, I have an EOTech, attached straight to my flattop. I was concerned that I'd need a mount or spacer to help it align with my BUIS, but I'm glad to say it was not needed. :p I'd definitely recommend the EOTech, especially with your flip up irons.

Just curious, how much were the two flip up irons? I got a RRA rear sight that fits over the flat top rail and raises the EOTech up just a little ($130). It works pretty good. I used the standard front sight, but my Armalite has the front sight rail mounted anyway.

Your set up looks pretty good. I would recommend an EOTech if that one doesn't work out.

the Ergo grip is ok. its skinnier than i thought it would be. it does feel good but my point was to have a beefier grip that the standard A2 grip and it is only a small bit bigger. i think i might try the Samco G27 down the road.

i think the EOTech will be in my future as well. i wanted 2x magnification for a little more accuracy at longer ranges but i hear the EOTech works just fine out to 200m which is all i'll need.

why didn't someone telll me AR's are so adictive!!

Sounds like I have what you wanted, while you got what I wanted

As for prices on flip up sights, it depends.
The first thing you need to consider is your gas block, is it the standard fixed type, or a railed block? If it's standard, you have to remove it, hopefully your muzzle device isn't permanent.

You'll be looking at $70+ for each sight, usually more like $85+ each. Theres a type that mounts to a rail system, or one that mounts to a railed gas block, and a type that incorporates the gas block, for front sights. I hope I'm being clear, the point was, be sure you're buying the right one for your application.

In the rear, most guys seem to swear by the A.R.M.S. #40 One manufacturer seems a little cheaper on most items, Yankee Hill Machine or YHM... I'd go that route for front flip, (my front site is fixed) but stick with the ARMS 40 for rear, I like mine and it's pretty much worth the price.

Fixed front and folding rear, I have no probs with EOTech co-witness and nothing additional was required. That may change with, for example, any variety of YHM folding front sight.

Plus, if I want a classic A2 look, I can take off the optic and rear sight, and replace with a detachable carry handle. Flat top recievers are good stuff

and yes, it's definitely addicting

sorry missed the sight price question. the rear was $140+ shipping, the DPMS four rail gas block was $60 and the the BMAS fron sight from Bushmaster (made by Yankee Hill Machine) was $73+ shipping. nearly $300 for the whole shebang. i hated the way the front sight is right in the way of the pretty red dot. distracting. i didn't want to co-witness, i want optics or irons but not both at the same time thus the flip ups at both ends.

don't know what kind of sling yet. do know its going to be a single point attachment at the stock/receiver juntion. haven't decided yet.

Now, you know you're not really tactical until you add a vertical foregrip and a weapon light, you know....

You know you want to. Actually, you prettymuch have to. I mean, I'm not trying to pressure you or anything. I just want you to be happy, and you won't be happy until it's finished.

You want to be happy don't you? :neener:
