Well I finally jumped in and ordered my Ruger SR9C today. One thing I have noticed when doing an internet search on SR9C problems is the issue of light strikes. Many of these posts seem to be dated in the early 2010 time frame. Was this an issue with this pistol earlier on? Is it something Ruger has resolved? Don't mean to go looking for a problem but just trying to be aware of possible issues. Thanks.

I just bought one recently and I think it is great. Haven't had any problems yet. Great shooting pistol.

Ruger packs a LOT of shipping grease in those striker channels. My guess is a lot of folks weren't properly cleaning their guns prior to firing, and as a result, were getting light strikes. Just a guess, though.

So far zero failures on mine, had it over a year now. Give it a good cleaning before taking it to the range and you'll be good to go.

Great pistol.

I gave mine a good cleaning out of the box, including the striker channel (which had a lot of grease in it) and I've got around 1,200 problem free rounds through mine.
