I used some stock exercise option money today, and ordered an Armalite AR 24. I got the 15 round version with adjustable sites. I think they call it "tactical" - I hate the word, but like the features. I didn't really care about 10 or 15 rounds, but I got the 15 round version, or my*shooting buddies would be calling it a "Hillary capacity" gun.
It's my first center-fire auto-loader since a CZ-52 a long time ago. The CZ-52 didn't work out very well for me (it had a terrible trigger, and eventually the slide cracked). I have been shooting a Blackhawk for a while, and decided to add an auto-loader to the stable.
I shot a friend's CZ-75 a while back, and like that. I went to a gun store and held a P226, an SR9, and an AR 24, and I liked the AR the best by far. I have short fingers, and the P226 didn't fit. The SR9 was slim and all, but I am not planning on carry. The AR 24 fit well, and I really liked the heft of the steel
I paid $501 for the gun (plus tax), and I will pick it up on Wednesday.
I am pretty excited - I don't buy many guns.
