I bought an old LEO turn-in shotgun ($140), an 18'' barrel High Standard K-120 12ga that is mechanicaly sound, but the finish is somewhat worn with a few flecks of rust and pits.

I can get the whole gun parkerized for about $80. I figured that I'd also sand & stain the wood stocks while it was out for refinishing and I'd end up with a shotgun that would be both more durable in the finish dept and be a bit better looking too.

Whata ya think? Deal or no deal?

Allow me to add to this question. Can you parkerize aluminun? like the mossy 500 reciver? thanks.

While not my first pick, the HS pumps were decent shooters. This is well worth rescue.

Brownells has some finishes and advice. Get both....
