Alright, ive finally decided its time to get some pepper spray. Im 19 so I cant carry and I would like to have something on me that I could use to defend myself. Ive done some research before and ive heard that Fox Labs comes in high regards. In your opinion what is the best type of spray to use? ie;stream, foam, cone, fog. My thoughts were that the stream would give you more distance and a better chance of not getting yourself in the process. I got my first taste of pepper spray the other day and I would not like anymore to say the least.

Does anyone know if this is the stream type?

You didn't mention where you are, so can we assume that you have verified the legality of carrying pepper spray at 19? For example, it was mentioned in a thread just yesterday (and I knew it from before) that in Massachusetts you need an FID just to carry pepper spray. Other places also regulate or prohibit it.
 
Ive been looking around and from what im gathering I have to buy it from a "liscensed firearms dealer". How would they ever know where I got it from? im from NY by the way.

In the state of New York, pepper spray may be legally possessed by any person age 18 or over; however, it must be purchased in person (i.e. cannot be purchased by mail-order or internet sale) either at a pharmacy or from a licensed firearm retailer (NY Penal Law 265.20 14 (a)), and the seller must keep a record of purchases. The use of pepper spray to prevent a public official from performing his/her official duties is a class-E felony;

So I have to keep the receipt? Do I have to keep it with me when im "carrying"? Seems like a dumb law.

You may want to look into getting a rifle or shotgun for home defense if it is not legal for you to posses or carry a handgun in NY until you are 21.
