Howdy y'all,
Ive got an opportunity to purchase an old percussion rifle and need some help in id'ing the thing..The only marks that I can find are "T. Davidson Cinncinatti, OH on the side plate, along with the standard bird dog scene.....From what Ive found previously, Davidson was a supplier of locks only...At the end of the octogon barrel are 5 rather crudely engraved stars...Caliber is about .36...half stock...ordinary wood...Overall condition is fair to OK...Brass trigger guard and hardware..

I suspect...guess...SWAG...suppose that the thing was assembled by some frontier gunsmith...maybe making the barrel and stock himself..

Any ideas, suggestions or other info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks..
