Pictures featuring your GP100 grip inserts -- please

I just picked up a new-to-me stainless 4" GP100 (yes, I'm doing a little happy dance ) and was hoping to see pics of rubber grips with various wood inserts in place -- the pics on Lett's website weren't too helpful.

When I bought it, the GP100 had a rubber Hogue monogrip, which I love on my SP101 but found too big on the larger-framed GP100. So I've installed the compact rubber grip from Ruger/Lett, which fits my hand perfectly, and am now trying to decide which wood inserts to buy to dress it up. Temporarily, I've installed the black plastic inserts from the SP101.

Also, any other grip recommendations for the GP100 that are approximately the same size as the compact (standard on the 3" fixed-sight GP) rubber grips? This will be for range/CCW use.

Douglass a few guys on the Ruger forum have been askin for custom grips too so I decided to start makeing them.Heres a set out of honey mesquite I made.


I just picked up some tru-oil and will start practiceing with the finish.

The grip inserts look nice, Grits.

A couple of questions:
1. How are you going to attach them to the grips (will you add a a grip screw later)?
2. How much will you be asking for a pair?

Please post pics when they're complete!

I was planing to put the grip screw but the guys on ruger forum said it looked good with out them.I made them slightly larger than the orginals and they stay in real good.Tried them at the range and had no problems either.With out the grip screw it allows me to put the ruger medallions.Ruger forum blocks some of the free email accounts,that might be you problem.If you still can join let me knoe and I will let the mods over there know.

1. I like the look of the screw-less grip, especially since you've tried it at the range and they stay in.
2. Just tried the Ruger forum again...and was successful registerering this time. I guess third time is the charm -- I'll search over there to see what I can find.

Anymore pics? Anyone? There are a ton of GP100 threads on THR...so I know y'all have 'em!

Yes they the silver /black letts, I am a lousy photographer and they always seem to look more brown in pictures.....tom

Those look especially nice on your blued GP100, Grimjaw...and I usually prefer stainless steel! Thanks for posting.
