Tinker2,
I haven't forgot the lathe work, just been really busy with the Equine Care thing.
I took care of 30 Sheep, 3 cows, 20 horses and 21 dogs on 4 differenc ranches this week and I'm P PED!
Glad you got a '58 Rem.
I'll try to get more info to you this week.
Wish You'd gotten a Euroartms '58 as they are smaller and almost an exact copy of a Remington Old Model Army. The first 1600 or so Old Model Armies used the old Remington-Beals Frame with no threads showing at the breech.
And as an added attraction, their Chambers are bigger than the bore(the distance down of a Seated .454 ball, then smaller down to the base of the chamber. How they cut 3 tapers in the Chambers beats me, but they do. one 45 deg. or so X .460 chamfer at the mouth, then it tapers to .451-452 to mid ball seat then to about .440 where the powder is placed.
What can I say, I had some Cabelas gift certificates and a $20.
off coupon.
I got it with a extra cylinder and last week I got a box of .44 Colt
loaded shells for it. I should have paid more attention to the size
of the bullet loaded in it ( not the .451 heeled bullet ) but at least
I have the brass.
Chamber cast is .449
Chamber to chamber is .051
Chamber to outside edge is .075
Bolt stop notch in cylinder is .042
Tell me what you think
Take care of yourself my friend and try not to work so hard.
