Have you looked up the penalty for packing a loaded, unlicensed pistol within the boundaries of Mayor Blomberg's NYC? 3 1/2 years mandatory. There are other methods when visiting NYC to keep yourself out of harms way.
While you are stuffing your face with that fantastic pastrami sandwich from the 2nd ave Deli, just keep saying, "I am not in Texas anymore".

Only the cops, connected, and criminals carry pistols in NYC.

Well, I figured I wasn't in Texas anymore when I saw that white stuff falling from the sky and piling up on the sidewalks...

With regard to NYC's unconstitutional anti-2nd-Amendment "laws", I figure that there is "moral" and there is "legal". Seldom do they intersect... I'll choose "moral" over "legal" anyday...

The law

I know this is thread drift, but I must comment about the last posting. IMHO, anyone who owns and carries a firearm, should never intentionally violate firearms law.

Like it or not, NYC, and surrounding areas, have for many years, severely restricted ownership, and possession of firearms.

Colonleon brags about committing a felony, and even flaunting it in front of LEO's.

The law in question increased the mandatory minimum sentence for illegal possession of a loaded handgun to 3 ½ years was passed in 2007 by the Legislature and signed into law by the governor. Like it or not, it is the toughest such law in the country.

May I suggest that Colonleon return to NYC, packing his .45, and become a test case for the NYS court system. Because he feels this law is not "moral" and "unconstitutional" he may be willing to contribute a sizable about of lawyers fees, and most likely 3 1/2 years of freedom.

Colonleon can explain his opinions about morals to the judge, and then the prison guards. I am sure they will be most enlightened by his views.

this is exactly what we DON'T need here. admitting to committing a felony? classy. NYC laws are as immoral as they are backwards, but they're the law. you coming here and admitting you flaunted them isn't High Road. it isn't smart, either. there are a number of LEO who are members here. something to think about.

gun owners have a responsibility to follow the laws of wherever we may find ourselves. ignoring them only makes us look bad, and gives the politicians who want to restrict our rights more reason to do it. by committing criminal acts, and boasting about them here, you make us all guilty by association.
