Question , If you purchase a singel stage press, what brand of powder measurer who you buy ? Scale? A kit may not come with a good one , so what one thats accurate + doesnt cost a week wages?
Thanks for your time!

Haven't priced any measures lately. The drum type measures by RCBS, Redding, etc with a micrometer insert are hard to beat for long term value.

For the most part, if you buy a "kit" from RCBS, Redding, or Hornady, you will get a top of the line powder measure with it.
They don't make any of lessor quality for the "kits".

Same with scales.
They won't be the most expensive or highest capacity beam-balance scales that company makes, but they will be good scales perfectly capable of weighing powder to the nearest 1/10 grain or less, none the less.

I started with an RCBS Rockchucker kit. It came with a powder measure and 505 scale both of which I am still using after four years. I load about three to four hundred rounds per week of .223 and .40 S&W. Never had a need to upgrade either piece of hardware.

I've been very happy with my Lee Perfect Powder Measure. It isn't comparable to a $150+ powder measure in overall quality but the value of a $20 powder measure that does the nearly the same thing is tough to argue.

Mine throws very consistent loads of Varget, BL-C2, AA2520, etc. Maybe not all powders will meter as well but you'll have the same issue with other measures of the the similar design.

Don't overlook this good value $100 can buy nearly 5 of these things (and they come with a stand!) :D

Let's open a can of worms. You can buy the powder scoops from Lee for about 8 0r 9 bucks.

If you do, you should also have a digital scale (more worms) from Harbor Freight.

I have both the RCBS and the Redding 3BR, they both work equally well, I have been using PACT digital scales for about 12 years and a redding balance to just reassuire my self the digital is accurate. Most of the stuff today from the top manufacturers is usually pretty good

I bought this used RCBS powder measure and stand off Ebay (with both rifle and pistol drums) for $65. The papers in the box with it were printed in the early 1970's. It's extremely accurate, all iron construction, and US made. I use it with one hand just like its shown, and it doesn't hop around.

Same with my RCBS 5-0-5 scale. Early 1970's accurate to within 1/10 of a grain. This stuff can't be worn out.
