Anybody load these bullets? I bought 250 to try out and am wondering what the common COL may be for these. My SR9 will take them out to 1.16", but that's too long. They are 0.570" total length, compared to 0.600" for the Zero 115gr FMJ's. I load these at 1.15", so I'm thinking the Precision 125's should be about 1.12". They look 'right' at this COL.

I'll be using W231 with these starting at the low end of lead data.

Thanks

I loaded them at 1.055 when I tried them. Seemed to work fine there. Longer usually doesn't hurt.

Thanks Walkalong. With your information I think I'll be able to find a good working COL between 1.06 and 1.12 to meet my needs.

Do you recall what charge you were using at that COL? Target/plinking lighter charge or heavier charge to make PF?

w-231

I've shot a 122gr LFP with W-231 at 3.7 gr, using a AOL of 1.05. My M+P 9 compact [3.5" barrel ] likes 3.7 to 3.8 gr of W231. I tried 3.5 grs , but accuracy was not as good. Try loading up 10 rds each at 3.6 and 3.8 and go from there.

Load # 63:

6.5 Grs HS-6 with a WSP primer @ 1.100 for 1093 Avg FPS in a 3" EMP, 1191 Avg FPS in a 5" 1911, & 1364 Avg FPS from a 16" AR Dec of 2010 with temps in the low 60's.

Load # 64:

5.1 Grs N330 with a WSP primer @ 1.050 for 1195 Avg FPS in a 5" 1911. Nov of 2010 with temps in the mid 50's

Notice I changed the O.A.L. from Load #64 to Load # 65. I did not make a note why.

Check data. Start low and work up.

This sounds like a good place to start. I called Precision today as well and spoke to them about this. he's had customers shoot these at a large variation of COL ranging from 1.05 to 1.15. I think I'll start at 1.12 and 3.8gr W231 and work around from there in my 4+ inch barrel. May have to change length, may have to change charge, may have to change powders, we'll see!
