while there are a lot of replies in this post about cci primers not working properly, I have to say my experience with them have been nothing but good, over the years I have ended up using them almost exclusively.
last week I loaded a thousand .223 with them without a problem, then switched to small pistol and loaded a bunch of 9mm again without a problem.
I also will be loading .44 with them later next week, I cannot say how the large rifle will work as I load all my large rifle on a single stage but the small rifle and pistol and large pistol have always worked fine in my 550.
one though I had, is the shim in place that goes under the primer slide??

As stated, Dillon will fix it regardless who bought it first.

And, you have another option. As you live in Mesa, you are 'just around the corner' from Dillon,

Just pack that bad boy up and take it in. They will set it up, fix anything that's busted, and make sure all is OK. Excellent people to work with. Take advantage of your close proximity.

Plus, the store is fantastic. :)

when primers got scarce after the Obama election, I asked DILLON about CCI primers.

They said many years ago they were, in fact, out of round, but have been OK for many years.

I started buying them, and they've been fine.

( I usually buy winchester )

I use CCI almost exclusively now that I can get them again.
My 550 does great on them, now that it's fixed properly.

I'm curious as to the OP's issue.
I'd really like to hear what was/is wrong.
If it was fixed, what was the fix?
