Puma '92 - .45 Colt

I've got the opportunity to trade into a gently used, 2-year old Puma '92 in .45 Colt. It's the 20" round barrel, case-hardened frame with standard loop. Approximately 2 years old, it's had about 50 commercial rounds fired through it. I am assuming this is the Legacy/Chiappa Puma and not the Taurus/Rossi Puma - I'm waiting for confirmation on that.

Any comments on the Puma? This one reportedly has decent accuracy at CAS distances (50 yards). Also supposed to be quite smooth, near pre-'64 Winchester levels.

I don't need the rifle, but enjoy the lever action for a blaster and range gun. As I reload for my Smith 25-5, ammo isn't a problem. Supposedly this rifle has "gentler" rifling that allows for cast bullets needed in CAS shooting. I'm not a CAS shooter - just a paper and plate shooter.

I would give up my 3" Ruger SP101, also hardly used.

Sound like a good trade?

I have one of the LSI stainless ones. So far no problems with it. Just keep in mind the loading gate WILL peel the end of yore finger oft iffen u ain't careful!! Don't ask how I know this!

That is NOT the specific gun I'm looking at.

Gun was purchased in 2006. Seller thinks it was EMF-Hartford built. This notice is posted on their website:

Note: In December 2008, Rossi Firearms sold their 1892 rifle manufacuring to Taurus International. Taurus has declined to continue manufacturing the Hartford 1892's for EMF; therefore, as the current inventory of EMF Hartford Model 1892's is depleted, various models will no longer be available.

Any hesitation in buying a gun with a lack of factory support, or does Taurus cover any warranty work on this?
