Question About Gerber LMF

I have two Gerber LMF knives...one is older, serial number is 01xxx vice 03xxx...the older ones sheath has the "ALICE type" clips on the back...the newer one does not...the knives themselves are also slightly different..

Did Gerber make different sheaths for these?? I bought both from Ebay and I'm just a bit curious..

Yes. Gerber made slight changes in their fixed blade knives over the years. I believe the deletion of the ALICE clip happened to the LMF, BMF, and Mark series early 90s.

Thanks...I had bought one of these knives in the late 80's...'89 I think...but it was stolen shortly after I joined the Navy...I remember my old one had the clips...at least I have one to replace it.

Entirely correct. I have two MkII daggers that were made in different decades. The more recent one has a blade that is wider and more leaf shaped than the older knife.
