Just wondering, are all S&W internal lock parts dimensionally the same in every DA revolver model? Are the key mechanisms and flags interchangeable across the different frame sizes? For example, could you use a J-frame lock assembly in an X-frame and vise versa?

Thanks

Why would you?
The best thing to do with the S&W lock is either to ignore it or remove it. There is no in between.

ok sorry for the wait. just took it out this afternoon, and no I don't believe they are interchangeable. they are very similar though.

DANGER!!!! They are not the same. Specifically I have seen J frame, L fram and N frame internal locking flags and they are not all the same.

Cptn Awesome. Thanks a lot for the help. Any chance you have a picture of the other side of those locks?
Looks like it's mainly the shape of little post, which locks the hammer that is different. The bottom section of the flag also has different cutouts. How about the retaining post that goes into the frame on the other side? Are those the same diameter/shape/location?
Thanks again.
