I posted this in response at the end of the ROA owners list, which is likely too long for anyone to see it....sorry for the dual post.
I thought there would be a market for a quick release cylinder pin screw. I'm a bit fortunate in that I can actually turn the stock screw with my fingers...but it is a pain.
A screw that was a little longer with a knurled end, somewhat like the Belt Mountain cylinder pin, would be just the ticket.
So I wrote both Belt Mountain and David Clements some time ago about this very thing; they seemed the best candidates. Belt Mountain said no thanks and as is classic of David Clements, he said "use a dime".
If you go to Belt Moutain's Ruger page http://www.beltmountain.com/ruger.htm
And look at the "Sheriff's Model Locking" pin. The head of that pin, replacing the screw head on the ROA would be just about perfect. I think the other two styles would certainly work, like the "Knurled locking" or the "Old Army - for conversion cylinders" but they stick out quite a bit more.
No matter what. If Belt Mountain came out with any of those I would buy it....Or if someone here has the skills to cut the stock locking pin and fit one of those knurled heads, I would go that way as well.
