Rarest/strangest firearm you've handled or shot?

A Whitney Wolverine. It's been bouncing around the pawn shops down here for about three years.

At my first gun show in Albuquerque, I got to handle a C93 Borchardt , complete with the shoulder stock and everything. Cool dude, even let me dry fire it.

What are they asking for the Wolverine? The only one Ive ever seen in the flesh had $900 on the sticker 6-7 years ago. I shoulda moved some stuff around and got it.....oh well. :uhoh:

For me currently it would be my Rasheed. Funny enough when I picked it up everybody at the shop thought it was a funky SKS.
Before the Internet was a thing, you would see them pretty regularly at shows for reasonable sums. When folks discovered just how rare they really were, prices went atmospheric and they disappeared into collector closets.

My Dad had a Rashid in one hand and a Hakim in the other circa '93, both had $400 on the sticker. He picked the Hakim cuz it seemed like "more gun" for the money, lol.

Sometime about maybe 30 years ago there was an importer back East who was selling Egyptian Hakim rifles for $99 and my brother and I both bought one. They also had surplus 8mm ammo for dirt cheap, so we each bought a case. You could adjust the gas port to drop empties at your feet, and ours were great condition, and very accurate! I liked it better than my pristine M1 Garand! But I eventually lost interest and sold it to a friend, which I still regret. Tried to find another but the prices went crazy, so I gave up.

I think Dad put maybe 30 rounds through his before he put it down, claiming the ammo was too expensive (at 1993 prices)!

He still has it, stashed away somewhere. Wish I'd talked him into picking up the $500 Johnson at that show, or any of the $250 Broomhandles piled in a crate...

There aren’t many officer involved shootings around here, but there was one a few years back that became kinda high profile and made national news. It was an awful situation in which an officer was shot in cold blood. I personally knew the officer who was killed, and I grew up with the guy who killed him. The cop was a great guy, other dude was a true POS from way back. He was the elementary school bully, the middle school drug dealer, the strong arm robber in high school, real low class dude. He caught well over a hundred rounds when the police chase ended. I have had the privilege to fire the duty weapon that was the first in the fight when they caught up to the dude. It’s not rare, it’s not a big deal, but it meant something to me that can’t be explained.
