Reloading 101: looking for a primer

CB, this is exactly why I asked this question... I went to the Nosler site and they have no information on the 7mm 120gr BT's (#28120) listed. They're data starts at 140gr. I have a box of 120's that I plan to use for the first go-round in this venture.

The Lee site says it is safe to use the load data from the 140gr:
"Bullet weight not found in manuals

If the bullet weight you wish to load is not found in your favorite manual, it is safe to find the next higher bullet weight and find a load for the powder you have. Using that load with the lighter bullet simply reduces the velocity and the pressure."

I'm not experienced enough to know where to start with that sort of cross-platforming (for lack of a better term). And I do not want a "ka-BOOM"! :what:

Sorry if I missed it above, but what particular 7mm are you going to be reloading for? What powder do you want to use? What velocity level do you wish to achieve?

Primarily target shooting 100 - 200 yards. But also for learning purposes. Velocities for now aren't really a main concern, but since you ask I think 2800 -2900 would be good. Basing this on th eminimum loads I have seen both in the books I have and searching the net...

I hope this answers your question...

Nope, doesn't help. What I need is something like: 'I'm reloading for a .280 Remington & have IMR4350 & N160 on hand'. Then I can try to do some extrapolation & come up with good info on using 120 grain bullets.
