Now a days i know its extremely hard to find anything but does anyone know where i can actually find reloading supplies? i realize this is a stupid question and i think i already know the answer but it never hurts to ask.

Try your local gun shops. Last week I found Federal small pistol primers at a local shop. They also had CCI primers. It pays to always look you never know.

I've found the best is to just keep checking back or stopping by your local supplier. Supply shipments are sporatically comming in and it's just a timing game. Over a 2 month period I made a weekly stop by a couple of places that were in my travels and was able to get everything I need (little by little in some cases)

It turns into a bit of a QUEST after a while !

"Never hurts to ask...." exactly - and +1 on local hunting -

sometimes they are holding items behind the counter out of sight instead of putting it on the shelves - you have to ask -

and sometimes you can identify when the shipment will be arriving - I think they get notified in advance on the large hazmat orders.

Keep hunting.

+1 on local. In the last week, I've found small primers at Midwest Shooters Supply and am picking up some large pistol primers at Scheels tomorrow. Also, no hazmat fees when sourcing locally. Now I need to get a reloader, dies, etc.!! Powder, bullets, etc. are pretty available around here, it's the primers that are scarce.

I would suggest getting in with some suppliers that will let you back order. The reason behind this is when they do get some supplies your name comes up when filling orders. I just scored on 5K Federal large mag pistol primers and that's the only way I ended up getting them.

Size .224 bullets have been somewhat short in supply but Widener's currently advertising their "milspec" bullets online 55 gr FMJBT M193, 62 gr FMJSCBT SS109, 75 gr HPBT. Won't last long.

I personally like and use their M193 bullets. Don't know about the others but the M193s were manufactured by Prvi Partizan.

Good luck! beerchug.gif

Get in line at Cabela's. I like the way they do backorders. They will only charge you 1 HazMat fee per order even if it takes multiple shipments to complete the order. They also ship as items become available and they don't charge your credit card until something ships. Eventually your number will come up and it appears that things are loosening up some the past few days. I hope so anyway.:scrutiny:

These days suppliers are going in and out of stock of many items very quickly. Check often. ;)

your best bet are the little gun shops that are out of the main stream. little mom and pops shops that are out in the sticks. you will pay a little more than the discount mail order places, but you will pay less than the gun shows!.

Small Town Gun Shops

My wife just scored 1000 rounds of CCI Mini Mag's at 6.99/100 by checking a small town shop. About a month ago I traveled 100 miles to a small town to buy primers CCI SR. They had 15k of them on the shelf but were limiting everyone to 2K per customer.

BTW has anyone else noticed that Mini Mags aren't even listed at midway or cabella's anymore? Are they not going to make them anymore?

Might even try calling them in person. Worth a try. Some suppliers cease online sales before their inhouse stocks are depleted in order to provide themselves a "cushion" in supply. How did I find out? My supplier, who will remain anonymous and whose website listed a couple of products that are in short supply/very high demand as "out of stock," called me out of the blue and offered a bulk purchase. Surprised me, to say the very least, as I nearly fell out of my chair. The cushion answer was in reply to my query regarding their "out of stock" status online.
