I recently heard about the 40-XB and 40-XS and was wondering if anyone knows what the differences are between these and the Model 700P and LTR models.

I read the specs and marketing information. I was hoping for some real world info.. maybe accuracy, cost, etc...

Totally different guns.

Different receivers, and the 40X series usually has solid bottom receiver metal for single-shot target use. There are 40X repeaters with magazines, but they're still built separately from the Remington 700 series, as a matter of fact, all 40X rifles are hand built one at a time by the Remington Custom Shop.

The 700P is nothing special! It is a stock action with a factory bbl. The stock is HSP, and it features an aluminum bedding block. There is heavy duty finish vs the VSF. But, as far as everything else aside it is a factory gun!

If its a custom action and feel you want go look at a tika. slide the bolt on one and you will be hooked. Ya this gun pretty much looks like a factory gun just you get to have some input on the jewling process...
