I have a Remington Model 700 BDL-LH chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. I've had it for years. When I first bought it, I was influential enough to let the local small town gunsmith install a Sako style extractor on it to replace the "Mikey Mouse one Remington put on there," (he's a Winchester fan...) as well as a trigger job. He did a good job with the trigger but apparently buggered something up with the extractor. At first, it wouldn't feed right. I took it back to him and he tuned or adjusted something. Now it feeds, but whenever I work the bolt really fast, it doesn't eject quick enough or forcefully enough to let the empty clear the receiver. It ends up bouncing off the rear "ring" of the receiver and then attempts to double feed the empty and the top round in the magazine when the bolt is forced forward. Part of me wants to take it back to him again until he gets it right--I did pay him for that. But a larger part of me is just tired of dealing with it. Apparently, Sako style extractors can be difficult to install if you don't know what you're doing, and this job seems to be a wee bit over his head. I am thinking about replacing the entire bolt assembly and wanted to know if anyone knew where I could get a left-hand Remington M700 LA bolt assembly with a .532" bolt face. Is this something Brownell's would have or am I going to have to order it directly from Remington? It isn't serialized, but you never know with these things. I really want to get this fixed because it is my only hunting rifle, and other than the failures to eject, the rifle has been flawless.
