Hi, everybody,

I did a search (and a google search!) and turned up nothing. I also roamed around ARFCOM to no avail, so I turn my question loose on y'all:

How does one disassemble an AR-15's rear sight assembly in order to replace the aperture? In my case, it's an A1-style assembly, but instructions for both (if they differ) would be helpful to anyone else with a similar quesiton who goes a-searching for it.

Thanks in advance,
~GnSx

Tap out the cross pin on the right side with fine punch, then unscrew the shaft from the left side. Watch for the tiny spring and ball that's under the wheel on the right side. There's also a small leaf spring under the sight. When you reassemble, you can hold that tiny spring and ball in with a dab of grease
