Been wanting something for a "varmit round". I am in the process of preparing a 65 grain load for my Tikka T3 243. My options are using that or buying a CZ 204 and using 32 or 40 grain(which ever it prefers). Those are my only 2 choices I am looking at. Not interested in any other calibers. I use a 6.5 swede as my main deer rifle, so I have that area covered.

Looking to use it on groundhogs, coyotes and other "varmits" you would normally find in the Ohio/Kentucky area.

Opinions..................

since you handload, you could look at the .20 tactical. .223 rem strait necked to .204". I live in SC ky, and the ranges here aren't really needing a cartridge such as the .204 ruger. A .223 rem would work fine.

I think that it depends upon whether you use the Tikka for anything else? If you do, then I'd dedicate it to that use, and the round best for that use - and get the CZ in .204. If not, then that's the Tikka's new job - go for it! But I like the 1st choice - that way you get to buy another gun. The .204 will be your short & mid-range varminter, and the .243 your long-range varminter. :)
