Round Butts Why??????

Maybe, now just maybe, when S&W first started building their double action revolvers the shooters didn't care for that round butt. So when they went to the Hand Ejectors they made them square butts.

S&W switched from the round butt because square butt Colt revolvers were outselling them by a wide margin.

Colt had already tried and abandoned the round but/birdshead grip.
