Round Count? How many rounds thru your shotgun?

410 shooters

For you 410 shooters I've been playing around with the 2" 9 gram 7s (not 2 1/2 inch) made by Gamebore. That is really a "sporting" load and I can get them for about $60 a case (10 boxes). My grandkids get a kick out of shooting them. Best I can do on skeet has been 20/25. Not a whole lot of shot in the little cartridge.

My Browning BT99, has had at least 50.000 rounds thru it and it is as tight as when I brought it home. It has had a steady diet of 1oz. and 1 1/8oz loads thru it. The best trap gun on the old market as far as I'm concerned. Won a lot of "round robbins" with that gun.:D

Believe it or not, out of all my shotguns (lots of semi and pumps) the one that has the most shot downrange is my Maverick 88 with more than 7K+ of trap. All my other shotguns are tactical with barrels I regard as too short for effective trap shooting (next closest would be my Saiga or 1187P with about 3.5K via course shooting).

Probably 30-35,000 through my Winchester Supreme 12 Ga
15,000 through my Beretta A390ST 12 Ga
250 through my Benelli Nova Tac all slugs
35 through my new this year Benelli M2 Rifled Slug barrel.

I have a friend with an original first year 870 trap I asked him 10 years ago how many rounds he had put through it and he just said a house and 2 divorces. That gun had been back to Remington 4 times to be completely rebuilt since the early 60's.

Maybe 50 rounds tops, beyond shots actualy at game, for the winchester 1300 i'e had c.15 years. Never really got into skeet, target practice has always been actual critters.

My trusty old 870? Who knows the round count. I am 53 years old and bought it at age 13. Paid $89 bucks for my Wingmaster NIB.

For 35 years it was the shotgun I had. Used it for dove, quail, ducks, geese, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, hogs, and coon. I suppose during each dove season I'd work through two cases of 500 so thats 35,000 right there just on dove.

Did not shoot all that much ducks and the other birds. But the rabbits and squirrels I hit pretty hard. Maybe another 25,000 on them.

I did use her for coon and hogs. The hogs got buckshot or slugs but I did not ever shoot all that much of it.

I did shoot some skeet and trap with it over the years till I bought my first O/U a few years ago. Probably just a case of 500 or a few more per year.

Old trusty is starting to show her age a little. Needs a blueing as the receiver is just about "in the white" now. The action is getting loose. But, I still trust her as my HD gun. I can disassemble and reasemble in the dark with my eyes closed and blind folded.

The 870 Wingmaster is an awesome weapon.
