Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm question

I have a Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm. As far as I can tell they were only made in Blued. I would love a Stainless one. If i am correct about them not making a SS one. Could I use the 9mm cylinder on a SS 357? I know you can have ruger "fit" a .22 Mag cylinder to a Single Six, but I would not send my current blued 9mm cylinder to Ruger in fear of having it not work in the gun it was made for.

Anyway, does anyone know if I could have sucess droping my blued Ruger 9mm cylinder into a SS .357 Blackhawk/

I haven't had exactly the experience you describe, but something similar. I bought a 9mm/357 convertible pretty cheap and it only came with the 9mm cylinder. I later found and purchased a 357 cylinder and it worked fine. They were all blued parts and I didn't need to have anything fitted. I did discover that the cylinders are a little different between generations...just know I saw one that was different at the front...there is a built in spacer on mine.

I had a 357 NMBH for 14 years, found a 9MM cylinder at a gun show for 15$, it had never been fired. I dropped it in, it worked. I had the 9MM cylinder nickel plated just so I could tell at a glance which cylinder was in the gun. Still use both today.

Ruger has at times made them in stainless.
