I was at a gun show today and I saw a pair of grips that the owner claimed would fit my ROA. As they were $70.00 and I didn't have the gun with me I declined.

The odd part of the grips were that the grip screw did not go through the opposite grip panel. One grip panel was completely smooth, no screw exit thread.

I like that quite a lot. I've searched the usual sites, Ajax and what not but all of them seem to have the stock set up. I can't find any that have a blind nut on one side. Anyone know who makes these type of grips for the ROA?

I did a Google search for "Ruger Grips" and clicked on this custom grip maker's link, and then clicked on Ruger "Old XR3 Grips" and found item #267:

http://www.clccustomgrips.com/

#267 SOLD Price $95.00 plus $4.30 shipping Available BLIND DRILLED Left or Right Side or with regular grip screw -- Highly Figured Claro Walnut

Evidently this grip maker is making them with the choice of which side has a blind drill hole.
Maybe others are making them too.
The thumbnail picture showing the actual grips is absent.

I've purchased grips from Cary Chapman (CLC Custom Grips) and been very satisfied. He specializes, in fact exclusively works, in Ruger single action revolver grips and is very, very exacting. Contact him via his web site and give him your specifications. I think you'll be very satisfied.
