S&W 460 Magnum

I plan to buy a 460 soon and would like to know if i can reload the 460 cartridge with my 454/45 Colt dies. Anyone out there know? thanks

I cannot imagine wanting more than a 454!
I have been shooting my Ruger SRH and now have my 6 shot groups to 1 1/2" at 35 yards with 454 ammo. This was never a problem for me when using 45 Colt ammo!

The .460 S&W case will be too long to full-length resize with .454 Casull/.45 LC dies, otherwise you should be able to set them up to resize the neck only and be okay, but I don't know if neck-only works with revolver cartridges. Gee, not too much help am I?

Your sizing die will probably not be long enough.
But you'll be okay with your expanding and seating/crimping dies.

IF you don't require decapping when sizing any good machinist could open the top of your current sizing die to allow the longer case to fit. As long as the lower inch or so remains untouched.

Thanks all, I emailed Hornaday and they told me they made a special set of dies for the S&W 460. So i will be ordering a set from them as a box of twenty 200gr SST cost $21.95 where i live, I like to roll my own any way.
