I have a 6in 686 that I purchased used and planned on sending out to S&W Performance Center for inspection, parts replaced, and trigger job. What are your thoughts about having them do the work verses someone else? Any idea what the turn around time would be? Thanks...

They would do a fine job, and are generally very good about standing behind their work..

Depending on where you are, and the extent of the work you need done, Smith & Wesson Revolvers are not very complicated, and there are quite a few very competent gunsmiths that are capable of performing just about anything you want done to one. The best bang for the buck would probably be through Smith & Wesson.. Just my opinion..

bbq,

Since you intend to have the gun serviced/modified, if you send it to Springfield and, if it's a no dash or dash one, have the hammer nose bushing done on recall, the shipping is free for the recall.
