S&W Model 39-2 Date?

I have a S&W Model 39-2, serial number A195nnn. I am not finding a difinitive source but have seen many people asking the same questions with different numbers...on both sides of mine I am extrapolating about 1974 here.

Can anybody give me a year on this serial number?

Can't pin a S&W auto down exactly, because all the auto's used the same serial number block from 1954 to 1984.

The gun 1 number before yours could be a Model 41 .22 target pistol.

And the gun 1 number after yours could be a Model 52 .38 Spl.

Probably wasn't but it could be.
