Still begining kinda of new to all of this I've got a question, I am near to finishing A Dixie super cub kit that I bought, .50 cal. from DGW. My question is which are better Sabots or Conicals, are there times when one should use one over the other, and also wondering about mini balls.

What's the Rifling Twist?
1:24 - 1:28 twist is best suited for the Sabots but will shoot long conicals fairly well in a muzzle loader.
1:48 twist is a happy medium for PRB & medium conicals but I've yet to find a good combination of sabot & bullet that shoots great out of any of mine with this twist.
1:60+ twist PRB only.

I found that for hunting, a saboted bullet provides very consistent first shot accuracy. One of my 1 in 48" twists likes a 240 grain saboted bullet and shoots it to the same point of aim as round balls at 50 yards.
But sabots do require using more powder for good accuracy out of a 1 in 48".
And loading them is more difficult.
So for a follow up shot a conical or a patched round ball can be loaded more quickly.
Conicals are fine to try at the range, but I get concerned about them becoming loose and creeping up the bore after they've been loaded for hunting use.
Because conicals are full bore projectiles, they're usually heavier than saboted bullets and also produce more recoil. And sometimes they require the use of wool wads over the powder to shoot well.
They're all worth trying to experiment with, but patched round balls are really the most fun to load & shoot.
Shooting moderate powder loads with PRB's, the bore won't get as dirty with fouling as quickly because the lubed patches help to swab the bore clean between shots.
