who has the best deal for Saiga .308 out there? all I see is $499... I'm looking to buy one soon and can't see why I can't find a better deal when .223 or 7.62 s 39 is $299... is there THAT much difference to charge extra $200? thanks, Johnny

you wont find them much cheaper then that tbh. your prices are correct and im not entirely sure why the 308s are so much more. Higher demand or lower supply for them most likely because i agree there probably isnt much difference

$499 is actually good right now. I picked mine up for $399 a while ago and not to long later the prices shot up. I see them running for as much as $600-$700 for just the base rifle sometimes!

One gun store that sells them told me that the reason they are so expensive is because they aren't frequently imported. For every .308 Saiga imported, there are a dozen of the other calibers imported and sold.

Believe me though, $500 for a .308/7.62x51 AK carbine is the best $500 you will ever spend! Hi cap mags are available, but a little steep in price so just keep that on mind. CSSPECS magazines are by far the best though.

Just like with ARs, .223, 7.62x39, and the 5.45 can all use the same size platform. The .308 is larger, so the rifle platform is different. The only large platform Saiga is the .308, so the economy of scale is not there.
$499 is what they go for.
