Hi all, I'm getting close to completing a new build but am having trouble with the trigger getting bound up when the action screws on either side of the trigger guard are torqued down beyond finger tight. Primarily the small rear most screw is the culprit, however the larger 1/4 28 screw directly in front of the trigger guard also causes binding.
There is plenty of room in the stock it is just a matter of tightening the screws down that causes a problem. Does anyone know if that small rear most screw is supposed to thread into the back/bottom of the trigger assembly. It seems as though if I left it out or just did a wood screw into the stock it would eliminate the problem....?
Below are the components of the build
- Savage target accutrigger action RBLP 6BR
- Shillen barrel
- 90% inlet wood stock that I have done all the shaping, bedding etc

Found you a picture. From that it sure looks like the rearmost guard screw is only into the wood.

Thanks all..... What got me mixed up is I borrowed the rear most trigger guard screw from one of my LRPV's and it is a machine screw not a wood screw on that application & so happens to be the same thread as the bottom of the trigger mechanism. A little Devcon and a little milling machine work and I should be ok. Thanks all!
